The Pro Bono Institute hosted its
Annual Dinner, “Transforming:
Pro Bono • Justice • Lives,” on
November 15, at Gotham Hall in
New York. PBI presented Latham
& Watkins LLP with the John H.
Pickering Award and Ford Motor
Company in partnership with
Dykema Gossett PLLC, Legal Aid
and Defender Association, Inc.,
and Michigan Community
Resources with the CPBO Pro Bono Partner Award. Attendees also heard
moving testimony from special guest Aimee Sherrod, a retired U.S. Air Force
veteran who directly benefitted from pro bono service in the landmark class-
action lawsuit Sabo v. United States.
