Newly Published: 2010 Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge® Report This report examines the statistical performance of firms that are Signatories to the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge® during the 2010 calendar year. The Challenge is the industry gold standard for pro bono participation in large law firms (those with 50 or more attorneys). Challenge Signatory firms have committed to contribute 3 or 5% of their annual billable hours to pro bono as defined by the Challenge and report their numbers to PBI each year.
Other Publications: New Publication: Talent Management Trends PBI’s Law Firm Pro Bono Project has just released a new toolkit, Talent Management Trends: Law Firm Core Competencies and Pro Bono. A Survey of Pro Bono Practices and Opportunities in Selected Jurisdictions - September 2010 This survey of pro bono practices and opportunities in various jurisdictions goes back to an initiative of the Pro Bono Institute and Latham & Watkins in 2005 to make information about global pro bono accessible. The survey is part of an ongoing effort, shared by many law firms, organizations, and corporate legal departments, to promote and stimulate the growth of pro bono representation globally and in international settings. Its purpose is to describe, for each jurisdiction, what access-to-justice or publicly funded legal aid programs exist, what unmet needs for legal representation remain, what perceptions or culture shape the discussion of pro bono, and what professional-conduct laws and rules provide the framework for pro bono representation.
