California Considers Community Justice Worker Proposal

By Anne Hickey, PBI Sheehan Scholar UPDATE (as of September 25, 2026): Following the public comment period, the State Bar of California’s Board of Trustees on September 19, 2026, voted to advance proposed rules to the California Supreme Court that would authorize a Community Justice Worker (CJW) model.
