What is the PBI Leadership Series?

The PBI Leadership Series presents quarterly in-person and online programming to facilitate conversations with legal leaders to highlight how organizations are driving meaningful change and to help inform the future of pro bono and access to justice.

Setting the Tone: Legal Department Leaders on the Impact of Pro Bono - Join PBI's Annual Dinner Co-Chairs, as they discuss how corporate leaders can champion pro bono service across their legal departments. This program will offer valuable insights into their companies’ long-standing commitments to pro bono, including how they engage teams, foster partnerships, manage leadership transitions, and deliver lasting impact for underserved communities.

March 2026. 20 Years of Impact: GC/CLO Perspectives on In-House Pro Bono. Marking the Corporate Pro Bono Challenge® initiative’s 20th anniversary in 2026, panelists discussed the evolution of in-house pro bono and highlighted opportunities and innovations to advance pro bono and access to justice. Speakers: Ellen Patterson, Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Wells Fargo; Susan Hackett, CEO (retired), Legal Executive Leadership, LLC; and Eve Runyon, President & CEO, Pro Bono Institute. Who can attend?

Leadership Series programming is open to PBI Law Firm Pro Bono Project Members and participants in the PBI Corporate Pro Bono Community. All other inquiries should be directed to pbi@probonoinst.org to learn more and join upcoming programs.

How to access past programs

Select Leadership Series programs are recorded and shared after the live program. Law firm Members should contact the Law Firm Pro Bono Project team and CPBO Community participants should contact CPBO project team for on-demand access.
