The PBI 2024 Report on the Law Firm Pro Bono Project® Staffing Survey shares staffing insights made possible by Law Firm Pro Bono Project members and signatories to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge® initiative that responded to our detailed survey on all things pro bono staffing. From pro bono professionals to operational and administrative support staff to pro bono committees, the report examines the roles and responsibilities of those standing at the helm of impactful law firm pro bono programs.

CPBO recently made public its 2024 Benchmarking Report: An Overview of In-House Pro Bono, which summarizes the responses of 54 legal departments, providing unique insight into current trends among in-house pro bono.

Clinic in a Box® Program – PBI, through its CPBO project, offers a suite of off-the-shelf models designed to create pro bono opportunities for legal departments and Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) chapters. In-house counsel can attend one of these half-day clinics and earn CLE credit while advising nonprofit organizations or small businesses.

Consulting Services – PBI offers a variety of free and for-fee consultative services to support pro bono efforts. Law Firm Pro Bono Project staff provides confidential consulting and technical assistance to major law firms. CPBO staff offers confidential consultation services to in-house lawyers, legal departments, and ACC chapters.

PBI Challenge ReportsPBI publishes annual reports on the pro bono performance of the signatories to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge® and Corporate Pro Bono Challenge® initiatives. These reports share current as well as historical data on pro bono engagement by major law firms and in-house legal departments.

Resource Clearinghouse – This interactive catalog of pro bono materials is available to law firms, in-house legal departments, and public interest organizations and includes original reports and papers, best practices materials, and other useful tools.

Webinars – These programs are available on topics of relevance to pro bono leaders at law firms, in-house legal departments, and public interest organizations. 

What Counts? – PBI offers advice, guides, and other resources to explain “what counts” as pro bono legal services as defined by the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge® initiative, the standard for law firm pro bono.
