WASHINGTON, D.C. — Pro Bono Institute (PBI) is pleased to honor Honeywell Technologies, in collaboration with Appleseed México, DLA Piper, and Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL), with the 2026 CPBO Pro Bono Partner Award. The award will be presented on Monday, September 28, at the PBI 2026 Annual Dinner at Gotham Hall in New York.
For several years, Honeywell and DLA Piper have come together across multiple cities, practice areas, and service models to address urgent legal needs in communities that lack access to legal support. Through a sustained investment in pro bono and strong relationships with local legal services and other nonprofit organizations, their work supports important community needs, including serving veterans, assisting low-income community members with legal needs from expungement to housing, and developing a cross-border collaboration to respond to disaster-related legal needs.
“As we created an initiative to expand pro bono service to all of our legal hub offices globally, Honeywell needed a partner with the infrastructure and creativity to help us grow,” said Gindi Vincent, Chair of Honeywell Technologies Global Pro Bono. “We couldn’t have found a more willing and supportive partner than DLA Piper, and our community nonprofit partners, to help us achieve our goal of over 1,000 pro bono hours last year. We are deeply honored to be recognized for this meaningful work.”
In Texas, Honeywell and DLA Piper team up with HVL to provide direct legal services to low-income individuals and veterans through recurring clinics and advice programs. These efforts have also expanded into other cities around the U.S.
Honeywell and DLA Piper have also expanded their collaboration internationally, working with Appleseed México and Universidad Panamericana to pioneer a replicable legal disaster response brigade in Mexico City, to strengthen emergency preparedness and help safeguard the rights of those most at risk during natural disasters.
