Corporate social responsibility is fundamental to Paramount’s culture and core values. Paramount strives to make a difference and understands that—now more than ever—countless individuals, organizations, and social initiatives need assistance. Paramount is a long-standing signatory to PBI’s Corporate Pro Bono Challenge® initiative, and the Law Department—under Christa’s leadership—encourages all members of the department to engage in pro bono work.

Paramount Law Department volunteers, including both attorneys and legal staff, routinely participate in pro bono projects ranging from single-day legal clinics to long-term representations. For example, in 2022 and 2023, Paramount Law Department volunteers have partnered with law firms and nonprofit organizations to:

  • Help low-income veterans find stable housing and file service-connected disability claims;
  • Guide low-income clients through the uncontested divorce process;
  • Assist parents of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities with completing guardianship petitions;
  • Counsel low-income artists on arts-related legal issues;
  • Field calls to the national, non-partisan Election Protection voter hotline;
  • Complete expungement petitions for individuals with juvenile records;
  • Complete legal name and gender marker change petitions for transgender and gender nonbinary clients;
  • Review criminal history files and determine if individuals with past felony convictions are eligible to re-enroll as voters in Florida; and
