Law firms with 20 or more attorneys are invited to become Members of the Law Firm Pro Bono Project® initiative. By becoming a Law Firm Pro Bono Project Member, your law firm gains access to specialized information and personalized assistance essential in creating and maintaining a first-rate pro bono program.

As many of the world’s most respected law firms are Law Firm Pro Bono Project Members, you become part of a global network of other prestigious law firms that share your commitment to pro bono and your passion for justice.

Member firms support the Project’s work through annual dues and receive a wide range of free and discounted services.

To become a Member, complete the membership enrollment form and submit it, along with your annual membership dues payment, to Pro Bono Institute. Non-member law firms may receive assistance and materials from the Project on a fee-for-service basis.

    • Discussion of the 2026 Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge Report –This virtual program will focus on recent trends, findings, and strategic implications from PBI’s recent reports, including a discussion of billable-hour credit and its relationship to pro bono performance.
    • Law Firm Pro Bono 101 – ­This foundational program will build on conversations from the PBI 2026 Annual Conference and is ideal for new pro bono leaders or those seeking a refresher. It will cover essential policies, engagement strategies, and resources.
    • Successful Partnerships – These informational virtual meetings will convene pro bono leaders from member firms and in-house leaders from the PBI Corporate Pro Bono Community Group to discuss effective partnership models.
    • AI and Automation – These practical virtual programs will highlight how colleagues are using AI and automation to enhance pro bono programs, including implementation tips for clinic workflows.
    • Leadership Series ­– These quarterly webinars will feature perspectives on pro bono from law firm chairs and managing partners, chief legal officers and general counsel, and other legal leaders.

  • Resource Clearinghouse and Members-only Section – This updated and improved interactive resource pulls together PBI publications, reports, surveys, and best practices.
  • Reports, Monographs, and Toolkits – Members receive all publications, surveys, reports, and monographs developed by Law Firm Pro Bono Project experts free of charge.

Networking and Partnerships

  • Corporate Partners – Member law firms will receive assistance from the Law Firm Pro Bono Project initiative and from the CPBO project in partnering with corporate legal departments.
  • Corporate Insights – receive advanced access to exclusive surveys and studies on legal departments produced by the CPBO project, such as the CPBO Annual Benchmarking Survey.
